Layered Alcohol Ink Floral 30th card ft. Altenew

Hi there!

I hope you are having a great week! I have had a rough week, but I really wanted to share this card and video with you all. I will admit that I had a few issues with my video this week (I think I was filming when I thought I hit pause, and pausing when I was meant to be filming) so I hope you will forgive me for it being a little off and that you still get the main idea of the card.  I will also make sure to give a detailed breakdown of how I made the card below.

To begin with I created 4 different colour way background pieces using some Tim Holtz specialty stamping paper (any glossy cardstock will work, Yupo paper is great but I didnt have any on hand). For each panel I applied some alcohol ink blending solution and then applied two different colours of alcohol ink.  Once I had applied the colour I then added a few drops of Gold Mixative to the panel and used an old brush to spread the colours across the cardstock. The 5 different colour ways I completed are as follows:

1. Purple Twilight & Raspberry
2. Raspberry & Red Pepper
3. Watermelon & Valencia
4. Orange Sunset & Sunshine Yellow
5. Citrus, Limeade & Clover

Once the panels had dried completely, (make sure of this so ensure that the panels you created dont get stuck in your diecuts) I cut out the different layers of the Altenew Peony Dream 3D die set (to see which pieces I cut from which colour ways please see my video). (****A tip for cutting the alcohol ink panels.... Add a piece of scrap paper on top of your die cuts so that the colour does not stick to your cutting plates of your die cutting machine.... I learnt the hard way). I glued all of the pieces together using Tombow Mono Multi glue following the layers on the back of the Altenew packaging.

For the background Panel I used a piece of Black marble paper that I had in my stash.  I picked up this paper from a paper factory in Pondicherry, India (a few hours from Chennai). I cut this panel to 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" and glued it to a standard sized top-folding card base made from Neenah Solar white card stock 110lb.

I arranged the flowers and leaves in a way that I liked and then adhered all the pieces using Tombow Mono Multi glue.  For the sentiment I cut a 3 and a 0 from the Altenew Bold Numbers die set.  I cut the numbers out of some gold foil cardstock and the adhered the numbers to my card in the top right hand corner using the same glue as before.

To create a small sentiment I used the Altenew Crafty Friends stamp set and took the stamp that says "happy crafting" and masked off the "crafting". I inked up the stamp using Versamark Ink and then stamped onto another small piece of the marble cardstock. I embossed the sentiment using some gold embossing powder and cut down the piece to create a flag to sit across the numbers on the final card.   I adhered this piece using 3M mounting tape.

I hope that you like the finished card!

Have a great day!

Jodie xx
